Hello! Thanks for stopping by my little shoppe! I am just getting started on this venture and your interest means a lot to me!
I’m not sure how old I was when I got my first sewing machine, but I do remember how excited I was! I know it was before I started 1st grade, and I remember the joy of sewing little blankets for my favorite doll, Pinky.
Since then, I have broadened my horizons a bit! By the time I entered 7th grade I had pretty much started making all of my clothes, and soon I found that my little sister loved it when I sewed for her also. I loved making little dresses for her, and maybe that’s the main reason I’m here today- sewing kids clothes! She’s not so little anymore and I’m sure, one of these days, she will decide she’s big enough to make her OWN clothes. How the time does fly…
On August 3, 2019 I married this amazing Kansas guy who promptly hauled me to the sand-hills to make my dwelling. From the rolling green circles of alfalfa, to the wild sunflowers bobbing their heads beside the sandy roads, this land has stolen my heart. With these thoughts on my mind, I paid my tribute to this lovely place by tacking the name Sandhill Sunflower on this little venture of mine.
Now it is my dream to have a little shop full of adorable things for your kiddo. It is important to me that, while the outfits must be cute, they also should be comfortable and practical. To meet this standard I strive to pick out soft, durable fabrics for all of my creations! I love fabrics with a bit of stretch to them because, while they are easy to sew, they also are very forgiving and don’t tear very easily.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check the Sandhill Sunflower out!
