Medellin is Colombia’s second largest city and the capitol of the department of Antioquia. Outside of Medellin is where most of the coffee farms reside on rural lands. The volcanic soil and climate assures the coffee matures slowly creating a hard, dense bean. This area is ideal for growing coffee with temperatures averaging in the mid 70’s with a range from the 60’s -80’s. The volcanic soil creates a rich, intensely flavored bean with excellent balance and some sweet notes in the cup.
