Description

Medellin is Colombia’s second largest city and the capitol of the department of Antioquia. Outside of Medellin is where most the coffee farms reside on rural lands. The volcanic soil and climate assures the coffee matures slowly creating a hard, dense bean. This area is ideal for growing coffee with temperatures averaging in the mid 70’s with a range rom the 60’s to the 80’s. The volcanic soil crates a rich, intensely flavored bean with excellent balance and some sweet notes in the cup. Colombian coffees are very well balanced and are produced throughout the year making them a good choice as a stand alone varietal to a base component in a majority of blends and roast profiles.
